The Dawgs won their fourth straight game to open the Western Canadian Baseball League season on Friday night, defeating the Brooks Bombers 10-2 at Elks Stadium.

Landon Kauffman (Vancouver, B.C) led the Dawgs’ offence, going 4-for-5 - including a two-run home-run - with four RBIs. Benito Bonilla (Halifax, N.S.) also belted a solo home-run and a double and contributed two RBIs. Jacob Wrubleski (Calgary, Alta.) also went deep, finishing 2-for-6.

Troy Benko was the starting pitcher for the Dawgs. He allowed just two hits, while striking out five, in four scoreless innings to earn the win.

The Dawgs will now take on the Bombers on Saturday at Seaman Stadium on Veterans Night when the team will honour those who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces.
