The Okotoks Dawgs beat the Fort McMurray Giants 9-1 on Saturday at Legacy Dodge Field.

It was the Dawgs’ third straight win over the Giants.

With the victory, the Dawgs are now 16-2 on the season.

Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Tucker Zdunich (High River, Alta.), Barry Eiseman (University of Montevallo) and Kadyn Williams (Emporia State University) also contributed two hits each.

On the mound, Garett Maloney (Campbellsville University) started and allowed just one hit, while striking out four, in five scoreless innings. In total, Dawgs’ pitchers registered eight strikeouts.

Back at Seaman Stadium, the Dawgs Academy’s 17-18-year-old Red and Black teams faced off in a Futures Game with the Black team emerging with a 25-13 win.

The Dawgs return to Seaman Stadium on June 25 to face the Sylvan Lake Gulls
