Relief efforts from Jackson Fraser (Saskatoon, Sask.), Rylan Penner (Blumenort, Man.), Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) and Seth Thompson(Calgary, Alta.) tried to contain the Giants’ offence however, a two-run eighth inning saw the Dawgs’ chances grow thinner until the final out was recorded.

The Dawgs scored their only two runs in the third inning. Ricky Sanchez led the offence with three hits, while Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) and Noah Geekie (Strathclair, Man.) both had an RBI.

The Dawgs will look to rebound on Wednesday night as they take on the Giants in the series finale.
