Now playing for the Vauxhall Jets, C Cardel Dick will head south to the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks this fall.
Also heading to Nebraska-Omaha is RHP Drew Lenehan (Woodstock, NB).
Dick (Abbotsford, BC) has had success in the US before being named Most Valuable Player in Perfect Game 16U Battle of the Southeast Nationals with TG D-Backs 16U at Marietta, Ga. in 2021.
All he did was bat .542, with six doubles, two triples and 12 RBIs playing for former Blue Jays C Todd Greene, who had an 11-year career in the big leaguer, also playing with the Angels, Rangers, Rockies, Giants and the Mets.
Dick earned all-tournament team honors with TG D-Backs at the 16U National Southeast World Series and the PG Summer Showdown in 2021. He also gained all tourney honors with at te 2022 WWBA 17U National championship.
Dick gained Perfect Game/Rawlings honourable mention honors in 2023 as a All American for the Canada/Puerto Rico region and preseason underclass honourable mention in 2022.
Cardel Dick (2023, Abbotsford, B.C.) put on one of the most impressive offensive performances I have seen in a while as he went 3-for-3 with 3 RBI and was a homer shy of the cycle. Dick started off the day with a triple to right-center and just missed a homer on a pull-side fly ball that got down for a double. Dick has a nice swing and draws from a really strong lower half. His hips stay back a long time and everything stays connected. Dick also showed the ability to stick it behind the plate.
