Miami, Okla. – Officials at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College will induct Jason Dickson into the NEO Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet and Alumni Reception, originally scheduled during homecoming weekend, have been postponed to a date to be determined next spring in light of the ever-changing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dickson was a member of the 1993 and 1994 NEO teams. He was a key member of the pitching staff for the 1993 team that captured the Region II Championship and went on to finish third at the NJCAA World Series.

Following the 1994 season, Dickson was selected in the sixth round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Los Angeles Angels. Dickson made his major league debut on August 21, 1996 in Yankee Stadium. One of the highlights of his four-season big league career was his selection to the 1997 Major League All-Star Game.

Dickson was honoured with the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame’s Tip O’Neill Award in 1996. As a member of the Canadian national team, Dickson represented his country in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.

Dickson previously served as the vice-president of Baseball Canada and is now the organization’s president and chief executive officer.
