Diewert, Warken happy in state of mind known as Polk State

OF Zach Diewert (Chemainus, BC) and C Cole Warken (Regina, Sask.) are making the most of their junior college education with the Polk State Eagles to advance to a four year college by playing baseball.
“They both have gotten better since they got here,” said Polk State coach Al Corbeil, a former
catcher with the Winnipeg Goldeyes in the independent Northern League. “
Diewert is headed to the University of Missouri in the fall, while Warken will attend Louisiana Tech.
The two Canadians were playing for Polk State College against St. Petersburg College at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater, Fla. former spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Leading off and playing centre, Diewert hit a solo homer in 12-10 win against St. Petersburg. DH Warken dh had two hits and drove in a run.
Diewert had two hits, knocked in two runs and scored three times in a 10-0 win over St. Pete’s. Warken singled and knocked in a run.
