BOCA CHICA, Dominican Republic –-- Carter Morris (Vernon, B.C.) turned in four solid innings on the mound while Dasan Brown (Oakville, Ont.) drove in three runs to lead the Junior National Team to a 12-7 win over the Dominican Summer League Rockies in what was the 13th and final game on the DSL tour.

The win gives the Junior National Team a record of six wins, five losses and two ties on the tour that lasted nine days.

After the Rockies opened the scoring with two unearned runs in the bottom of the first, Morris went to work blanking the side over the next three innings allowing just three base runners in the process and finished his outing with four strikeouts.

Morris received plenty of run support in the second inning as the juniors took advantage of six walks and an error to plate six runs before adding three more in the fourth including an RBI double off the bat of Raphaël Pelletier (Montréal, Que.) while Dasan Brown knocked him in with a single to right field.

With the juniors up, 10-3, in the eighth, the Rockies made things interesting scoring four times but Dasan Brown would drive in a Raphaël Pelletier with a triple in the ninth and score on a Micah McDowell double to put the game out of reach.

Reliever Viktor Bergeron (Terrebonne, Que.) provided three-and-two-thirds innings of relief with three strikeouts while Connor O’Halloran (Mississauga, Ont.) tossed a scoreless ninth.

Offensively, the juniors had eight hits with Brown and Cesar Valero (Calgary, Alta.) collecting two apiece as the duo also combined to steal three bases.
