The Okotoks Dawgs were defeated 11-3 by the Sylvan Lake Gulls on Monday night in a make-up game from a rainout earlier in the season.

It was the Dawgs’ second loss this season where they gave up double-digit runs. The Dawgs’ record dropped to 33-12, but they remain atop the WCBL standings.

Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) had two hits and registered his 21st and 22nd RBIs of the season for the Dawgs. Meanwhile, Titus Dumitru launched his fourth homer of the campaign in the fourth inning, which was part of his 2-for-4 night.

Ricky Sanchez also added two hits for the Dawgs.

On the mound, Graham Brunner (Sherwood Park, Alta.) started and had a short night, allowing five runs on seven hits in one inning.

The Dawgs will play the second game of the three-game series against Sylvan Lake on Tuesday with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. at Seaman Stadium.
