The Junior National Team fell to Team USA 5-1 in the first of two tune-up games that will close out the Pan-Am Qualifier Selection Camp.

The game was called after the fifth inning due to inclement weather.

The Canadians scored one run on five hits.

A bases-loaded walk to Brayden Ricketts (Brampton, Ont.) gave the Canadians an early lead in the top of the first inning, after a walk and a pair of singles by Ryan Stalony (Mississauga, Ont.) and Anthony Clavet (Québec, Que.).

Tommy Hanger (Toronto, Ont.) and Mason Ault (Hamilton, Ont.) each doubled in the contest.

On the mound, Tate Carey (Windsor, Ont.) started for the Junior National Team and pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing one run on three hits and three walks while striking out four.

Ryan Press (Toronto, Ont.) then held Team USA in check over 1 1/3 innings.

Logan Forgie (Ottawa, Ont.) was the last pitcher to appear for Canada. He allowed one hit and struck out a batter in 2/3 of an inning before rain halted play.
