First 75 players selected to the Canadian Futures Showcase unveiled

The Toronto Blue Jays Academy announced the first 75 players that have been selected to participate in the 2024 Canadian Futures Showcase this morning.

Now in its 10th year, the annual showcase will take place from September 17 to September 21 at Rogers Centre.

Hosted by the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy, the event provides rising Canadian amateur talent with draft and college eligibility the opportunity to play in front of numerous MLB scouts and college recruiters.

The showcase divides the players between six teams who compete against each other in a tournament-style format. The showcase begins with a scout day and ends with a prospects game and home run derby.

Participants are selected during a series of open tryouts and in-person evaluations that run across the country during the spring and summer.

Since 2013, 117 former Canadian Futures Showcase participants have been selected in the MLB draft and more than 700 have received college scholarships.
