Five Dawgs voted to CBN All-Canadian teams

Five Okotoks Dawgs players have been selected to the Canadian Baseball Network’s 2023 All-Canadian College teams.

Matt Wilkinson (Ladner, B.C.) - LHP, Central Arizona College
CBN 1st Team All-Canadian College Team
Matt "Tugboat" Wilkinson was the ace of the Central Arizona Vaqueros pitching staff. In what would be a banner year, Wilkinson was named NJCAA's National Pitcher of the Year.
In 16 appearances (14 starts), Wilkinson posted a 10-2 record with a 1.07 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and a 14.57 K/9 innings in 84 innings.
Logan Grant (Chestermere, Alta.) - C/INF, Bellevue University
CBN 2nd Team All-Canadian College Team
Logan Grant picked up right where he left off in 2023 in his first year with the Bruins. In 58 games, Grant hit .367 with 12 doubles, 11 home runs and 69 RBIs, while scoring 30 runs.
Micah McDowell (Kentville, N.S.) - OF, Oregon State University
CBN 3rd Team All-Canadian College Team
McDowell had a breakout year for the powerhouse Oregon State University Beavers. In 54 games, McDowell hit .342 with 16 doubles, seven home runs and 47 RBIs, while scoring 76 runs with 15 stolen bases.
Ricardo Sanchez (Okotoks, Alta.) - INF, Barton Community College
CBN 3rd Team All-Canadian College Team
Sanchez was a staple in the Cougars’ lineup, constantly doing damage and acting as a catalyst for the offence. In 59 games, Sanchez hit .323 with 17 doubles, three triples, seven home runs and 71 RBIs, while scoring 63 runs with 22 stolen bases.
Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) - RHP, Williston State College
CBN 3rd Team All-Canadian College Team
Forno was the anchor of the Tetons’ starting rotation in 2023. In 10 starts, Forno went 7-3 with a 2.34 ERA, while racking up 72 strikeouts in 61 innings.
