Canuck Red sweeps DH, Flewelling, Goodacre, Hartman, Kwinter, Ricketts, Rogers

Team Red completed the sweep with a 6-2 win over Team Grey in the second game of an intrasquad Junior National Team doubleheader on Saturday.
Team Red scored six runs on eight hits and committed zero errors in the victory. Team Grey was held scoreless until the final inning as it only managed to score a pair of runs on three hits.

Russell Kwinter (Toronto, Ont.) and Kyu Lumsdon (Langley, BC) both worked three scoreless innings in their Junior National Team debuts. Kwinter picked up three strikeouts in his starting effort for Team Red. Lumsdon collected two strikeouts in relief for Team Grey keeping Red in check late.
Ben Goodacre (Hamilton, Ont.) worked two scoreless frames in relief, permitting only a hit and a pair of walks while striking out two.
Brayden Ricketts (Brampton, Ont.) delivered the big blow for Team Red smashing a three-run home run early in the game. Nathan Flewelling (Red Deer, Alta.) would do it late in the game for Team Grey dispatching a two-run homer to get his team on the board.
Game I
An excellent showing for the Junior National Team in the first game of doubleheader inter-squad action as Team Red won it in the late innings 3-2.
Team Red scored three runs on eight hits and committed no errors in the victory. Team Grey scored two runs on three hits in the loss.

There were strong pitching performances from both sides, led by Team Red starter Mark Rogers (Cambridge, Ont.) who worked three scoreless frames, permitting only a walk, and striking out four. Will Hynes (Mississauga, Ont.) had a solid appearance out of the bullpen, holding Team Red scoreless over two frames.
Seamus Ryan (Calgary, Alta.) and William Labonte (Okotoks, Alta.) had their first taste of Junior National Team action on the hill.
Eric Hartman (St. Albert, Alta.) continued to swing a hot bat in camp finishing the game a perfect 3-for-3, scoring a pair of runs and driving in one.
Mason Ault (Hamilton, Ont.) had a good day at the plate for Team Grey smashing an RBI double over his two at bats.
