Ontario Terriers alumni closed out the March portion of the college baseball schedule and began April with some strong performances.

O'Halloran spins gem against Iowa

The Michigan Wolverines were looking for a bounce back effort after dropping Game 1 of their Big Ten Conference doubleheader against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Left-hander Connor O'Halloran (Mississauga, Ont.) tossed seven scoreless innings and allowed four hits and a pair of walks in a 2-0 win. He struck out eight to improve to 3-2. Just what the Wolverines were looking for.

Forgione with three hits

Cristian Forgione had a hit in each of St. Lawrence's three games against Ithaca. One of them was a solo home run in a 9-3 Game 3 loss. He added a walk and two RBIs in the series.

MacNeil makes two starts

Right-hander Owen MacNeil was so good for the Charleston Golden Eagles last week that they gave him the ball twice. The first was in an 8-1 win over Fairmont State when he worked 6 1/3 innings, giving up one run on four hits, with two walks and four strikeouts, to pick up the victory. In a 20-3 win over West Liberty on Sunday, he threw four innings, allowing three unearned runs on three hits. He walked two and punched out five to earn his second win of the week.

Ellis also makes two starts

MacNeil wasn't the only former Terrier to make a pair of starts as Campbell Ellis did it for the VCU Rams. Ellis picked up the win in the Rams’ 4-2 midweek win over William and Mary by throwing three scoreless innings. He scattered three hits and struck out two. Back on the mound in the rubber match of a three-game series with George Mason, he delivered four scoreless innings, surrendering three hits, and striking out three in a 15-5 win.

Giorno, Johnson back at it for Adrian

Andrew Giorno worked a scoreless inning in a 14-5 Adrian loss to Wooster.

Dylan Johnson meanwhile had four hits, walked, drove in a run and was hit by a pitch in four games played. He was 3-for-3 with an RBI in a 13-0 Game 2 win over Calvin.

Carey comes up with scoreless relief

The Muskies of Muskingum got a pair of scoreless relief appearances from Liam Carey in a 5-3 loss to Kenyon and a 16-2 victory against Ohio Wesleyan. Carey yielded a hit and struck out one in the loss and struck out the side in the win.

Worthen with the long relief

Sam Worthen's scoreless 1/3 of an inning in D'Youville's 9-5 loss to Bridgeport was just a warmup for what would come next. He would throw five scoreless innings of relief, scattering five hits and striking out two, in a 6-5 Game 3 loss.

Russell ready when needed

It was a busy week for Julian Russell as he made five appearances out of the Alderson Broaddus bullpen. He appeared in both games of a doubleheader with West Virginia Wesleyan, picking up the win with a scoreless 1/3 of an inning in the first contest. In the back half, he hurled 2 2/3 innings and allowed one run on three hits with two walks and a strikeout.

Mahoney mashes for Lake Michigan

After 10 straight postponed games, Lake Michigan finally made it on to the field for a doubleheader against Grand Rapids. In Game 1, Jacob Mahoney went 3-for-4 with a RBI in a 14-6 win. He had a hit in a 4-0 loss in the second game.

Sanasie-Edwards strokes five hits for St. Clair

Ethan Sanasie-Edwards put together five hits, three walks and two RBIs in six games for St. Clair County.

O'Halloran hits, big test awaits

Things have been going well for Ryan O'Halloran and the Butler Bulldogs as they've won five of their last six. Last week, O'Halloran hammered out four hits, walked twice and drove in a pair as the Bulldogs won four games, including a 3-1 series win over Eastern Illinois. They'll head to No. 16 Notre Dame on Tuesday.

Cane contributes to Jefferson offence

Ethan Cane is fitting in just fine at Jefferson College. He had another four hits last week, including a home run in a 13-11 loss to SUNY Broome. On top of the hits, he also walked twice and drove in four.

Marriott hits home run

Infielder Zach Marriott had six hits, four walks, two RBIs, a stolen base and two hit by pitches for Hendrix College. He swatted a solo shot in an 8-7 loss against Ozarks to open the week.

Ward with a hit, two walks

The opening of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play didn't go as planned for the Niagara Purple Eagles as they were swept by Fairfield, but Matt Ward managed a hit, two walks and a RBI in the three games.
