The Barrie Baycats have announced that former ace Claudio Custodio has signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles for the 2021 season.
Custodio, 30, was a two-way player for the Baycats during the club’s record-breaking 2017 season, where he went 7-1 with an earned-run-average of 2.29 in 70 2/3 innings pitched that year.

From there, Custodio signed with the Toronto Blue Jays in the spring of 2018, making it all the way to triple-A with the Buffalo Bisons after starting the season out with the Lansing Lugnuts of the Midwest League.
Custodio then signed with the Atlanta Braves organization for the 2019 season, where he would wind up being named the Mississippi Braves (AA) pitcher of the year.
Custodio is currently suiting up for Estrellas Orientales of the Dominican Winter League.
