The college baseball season is underway and Ontario Terriers alumni are out on the field making an impact for their schools.

Brown dazzles in debut

Matt Brown was given the ball to open the season for the Frontier Community College Bobcats. Brown spun five scoreless innings to pick up the win in a 5-0 victory over the Bevill State Bears. He allowed two hits, walked two and struck out nine. Not bad for a college debut.

Next up for the Bobcats is a four-game series at Hinds Community College that will take place on February 11 and 12.

MacNeil provides relief

Redshirt sophomore Owen MacNeil worked two innings of relief for the University of Charleston in their 8-1, Game 2 win over Lincoln Memorial on February 6. The 6-foot-4 right-hander surrendered a run on two hits. The Golden Eagles would go on to take the three-game series two games to one.

In 2021, MacNeil appeared in seven games and pitched 11 innings. He finished the season with a 4.09 ERA.

Earle works four innings

Southpaw Lucas Earle came out of the bullpen in the sixth inning of Allan Hancock's game against Taft and threw four innings. He conceded two runs on five hits and struck out five in the 4-3, 11-inning loss.

The Bulldogs are 3-2 to start the season.
