Former Toronto Met Carinci bound for Eastern Kentucky

Justin Carinci will soon be on the move again.
The former Toronto Mets INF Carinci (Ajax, Ont.) has committed to the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, which will be his third school in four years.
Carinci began playing college ball for the Highland Scotties in 2021 when he hit .224 with 10 RBIs and a .578 OPS in 21 games.
He transferred to the Mineral Area Cardinals and he hit .322 with 10 doubles, two homers, 18 RBIs and an .783 OPS in 49 games in 2022.
This spring he earned Toronto Mets alumni of the month award for February. All he did was have 26 hits for the shortest month of the year, hitting .481 for Carcini had a home-run, four doubles, and two triples for a slugged .685.
To date this season he is hitting .465 with 10 doubles, two triples, three homers and 31 RBIs. He’s also a rabbit on the base paths going 31-for-32 stealing bases and has a 1.167 OPS in 34 games.
In the season opener, he had four hits against Pensacola State.
Facing Southwest Mississippi, he managed three hits, as well as against Northwest-Shoals (twice), Lawson State (twice), Williams Baptist University JVs, Missouri Valley College JVs, Jefferson (twice), St. Charles, State Fair and Health Sciences and Pharmacy (twice).
He had two-hit games facing Southwest Mississippi, Rich Mountain, State Fair, St. Louis and Crowley’s Ridge College JVs.
Compared to JUCO players across the country seventh in stolen bases (31), ninth in average (.465) and 11th in hits (59).
Looks like the Colonels added a major.
