Forno, Geekie, Zdunich help Dawgs to victory over Prospects

The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Edmonton Prospects on Thursday night by a score of 18-7.
The Dawgs’ offence had a major 10-run inning in the third inning that ultimately put the game away early on.
The Dawgs improve to 22-6 on the season and sit atop the west division.
Noah Geekie (Strathclair, Man.) made his first pitching appearance of the season and threw two innings. Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) earned his first win of the season, coming in for relief in the third inning.
Relief efforts from Quinn Tocheniuk (Okotoks, Alta.), Rylan Penner (Blumenort, Man.) and Connor Robbins (Calgary, Alta.) shut down the Prospects, to earn the Dawgs their victory.
The Dawgs got help from all over the order in this high-scoring affair. Ruben Cedillo led the team going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs. Jacob Morrow and Tucker Zdunich (High River, Alta.) both had multi-hit games and contributed two RBIs each.
The Dawgs continue their current home stand tomorrow night as they take on the Prospects for a Canada Day battle.
