Moran's four hits lead Team Grey to come-from-behind win over Team Red

TORONTO - Tyson Moran’s bases-clearing double erased a four-run deficit, as Team Grey defeated Team Red, 9-8, in the final game of Day 3 of the Canadian Futures Showcase at the Rogers Centre on Friday.
The Wingham, Ont., native and North Dakota State commit – who earned Player of the Game – went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, including a wall-bouncing triple, a double, and two singles.
“I was trying to get a pitch that I can hit,” Moran said, on his approach at the plate. “I wasn’t going up there trying to walk, I was just trying to put a good barrel on the baseball.”
Sam Anderson (Toronto) started the rally for Team Grey, down four runs in the fourth, with a two-run triple to the right-field corner. The uncommitted second baseman later scored on a sacrifice fly from Logan Booth (Chilliwack, B.C.), cutting the deficit to 6-5.
Moran completed the rally with a bases clearing double in the fifth inning to give Team Grey an 8-6 lead.
Ethan Pittman (Fort McMurray, Alta.) – who has yet to commit to a college program – drove in three runs for Team Red, including a two-run triple in the third.
First baseman Felix Gosselin (Drummondville, Que.) produced from the third spot, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two singles.
In the bottom of the first, Red’s Finn Hoeschen (North Vancouver, B.C.) and Kieran Cutler (Paradise, N.L.) executed a successful double steal, with Hoeschen scoring to give the team an early 1-0 lead.
Quincy Jenkins (St. Albert, Alta.) opened the scoring for Team Grey with a two-run double in the top of the third.
Grey starter Mason Van Dyke (Welland, Ont.) struggled to find the zone in the bottom half, allowing five runs on three hits and three walks. The 6-foot-5 right-hander surrendered six runs on four hits and five walks over three innings.
Howard College commit Zac Foden (Edmonton, Alta.) worked two scoreless innings in relief. University of Evansville commit Jason Roach pitched the last two innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits.
Nathan Kirouac (Barrie, Ont.) started the game for Team Red, allowing two runs on two hits over three innings.
Michaël Bizier (Repentigny, Que.) took the loss in relief, giving up six runs on four hits over two innings. Deagan Barr (St. Joachim, Ont.) tossed the final two innings for Red, allowing one run – unearned – on two hits and struck out two hitters
