Left off the postseason roster, David Gauthier couldn’t do anything to prevent the elimination of Team Quebec from the Frontier League playoffs on Sunday.

But the 24-year-old southpaw remains convinced that he can pitch at the professional level in the Frontier League.

A Guerriers de Granby and Castors d’Acton Vale alum, Gauthier says he understood his manager’s decision not to include him on the postseason roster given his struggles in his final three starts. He said his lack of consistency hurt him.

The Sainte-Julie, Que., resident pitched a total of 60 innings in 22 appearances (10 starts) this summer and finished with a 6.45 ERA with 27 walks and 38 strikeouts.
