Official Okotoks Dawgs News Release

The Okotoks Dawgs lost 6-3 to the Sylvan Lake Gulls on Tuesday night.

The Dawgs gave up the six runs early thanks to a couple of home runs launched by the Gulls.

The Dawgs remain first place in the west division with a record of 40-13.

David Case started on the mound and had a rocky outing, allowing six earned runs in three innings. Bobby Vath then tossed three innings and finished with six strikeouts to shut down the Gulls’ hot bats. Relief efforts from Cade Herrmann and Ryan McFarland (Calgary, Alta.) shut down the Gulls late.

Tucker Zdunich (High River, Alta.) had another impactful game, going 2-for-2 with a walk, while also launching his third home run of the season to get the Dawgs on the board. Noah Geekie (Strathclair, Man.) and Brendan Luther (Mississauga, Ont.) both had multi-hit games but failed to drive in any runs.

The Dawgs will host the Lethbridge Bulls on Wednesday night in the second game of the final three-game homestand of the season.
