An early deficit and a late charge only to fall short as the Junior National Team fell 9-5 to the Fort Lauderdale Stars in a 10-inning contest on Sunday.

Once again, the Stars provided all of the pitching in the contest with the juniors slated to play five pro games and one intrasquad contest over the next six days of camp.

Down by six runs in the sixth, Jack Wheatley (Calgary, Alta.) got the Junior National Team on the board doubling in two runs before coming around to score on an error.

Dylan O’Rae (Sarnia, Ont.) led off the bottom of the eighth with a double before scampering home on a wild pitch while Sam White (Aurora, Ont.) drove in Ty Hamilton (Orleans, Ont.) on a single to centre to round out the Junior National Team scoring on the afternoon.
