The Toronto Blue Jays have traded outfielder Derek Fisher to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for a player to be named later and cash considerations.

Acquired in a trade that sent right-handlers Aaron Sanchez and Joe Biagini to the Houston Astros in June of 2019, Fisher - who boasts a cumulative OPS of .899 in 1,053 triple-A plate appearances - slashed .177/.295/.395 with seven home runs in 56 games with the Blue Jays.

Out of options, the 27-year-old native of Lebanon, Pa., was designated for assignment in order to clear a spot for RHP David Phelps last Friday.

Fisher made 43 starts for during his tenure with the Blue Jays. The Brewers have an outfield of Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain and Avisail Garcia. Candidates for back-up roles are Tyrone Taylor, Mark Mathias, ex-Jay Billy McKinney, Tim Lopes, Daniel Robertson and Jace Peterson.
