Hall of Fame New York Yankee broadcaster Mel Allen used to exclaim “How a-BOUT that?!”

Usually it happened when Allen was describing “another Ballantine Blast” which he said after each Mickey Mantle when Ballantine beer was a sponsor.

We could just hear Allen working Sunday’s Erie Kats doubleheader.

“How a-BOUT that?! Arbuthnot has homered AGAIN!

Carter Arbuthnot was clutch at the plate with men on base on Sunday for the Erie Community College. The freshman tallied a total of 10 RBIs in the double header split with Jamestown Community College.

The Kats took game one 16-6, racking up 16 hits including four home runs. Arbuthnot (Oshawa, Ont.) who had three hits in the game including two home runs. Cole Cote (Welland, Ont.), AJ Karosas (Mississauga, Ont.), Greg Hare and Isaiah Salas all had multiple hits for Erie.

Connor Desiderio got the win for the Kats surrendering six runs on six hits over five innings, striking out three.

Arbuthnot stayed hot in Game 2, driving in four runs including two more home runs but a late comeback by JCC gave them the 7-6 victory. The Kats tallied eight hits in the game.

Mike Hartman started the game for Erie. He lasted five innings, allowing zero hits and one run while striking out six. Salas took the loss for the Kats, allowing four hits and three runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one.
