Humeniuk cracks Baseball America's top 25 college offensive performances list

Okotoks Dawgs Academy alum Ryan Humeniuk’s six-hit game for the University of Louisiana Monroe on February 29 was one of the top 25 single-game college performances this season, according to Baseball America.

The highly respected baseball publication’s list was compiled by Joe Healy and Teddy Cahill and was released on Monday. You can read the full list here.

In the Baseball America article, Humeniuk’s performance is ranked as the 14th best college offensive performance of this season. On February 29, the Stonewall, Man., native went 6-for-7, belted a home run and scored four runs in to lead the University of Louisiana Monroe Warhawks to a 26-8 win over Illinois State.

Baseball America notes that Humeniuk’s six hits topped all Warhawks’ hitters that day, though his teammate Trace Henry went 5-for-5.

In all in his senior season, Humeniuk batted .406 and had 28 hits - including three home runs - in 17 games. He also recorded 22 runs, nine walks, two doubles and a triple.

The left-handed hitting slugger, who honed his skills at the Okotoks Dawgs Academy, began his collegiate career with Indian Hills Community College before transferring to the University of Louisiana-Monroe for his junior and senior seasons.
