The Brantford Red Sox, members of the Intercounty Baseball League, are happy to announce that Nick Burdett will be returning for his eighth season with the team.

In his more than 230 games in the IBL, Burdett has been a consistent team leader in hits. He won an IBL championship with the Red Sox in 2013, was an IBL all-star in 2015, and was named team MVP in 2018.

His veteran leadership has been a valuable asset both on and off the field - in 2019 both he and Matt McGovern stepped up and assumed field manager duties after the team made a coaching change midseason.

"Nick will be just as important to my new role [as field manager] as I am, he will be involved in all decisions we make as a team,” said McGovern.

The Brantford Red Sox were founded in 1911 and have won 15 Intercounty Baseball League titles.
