Official Intercounty Baseball League News Release

The Brantford Red Sox have announced that Liam Sutherland has been re-signed for the 2022 season.

Last year, in his standout rookie campaign with the Red Sox, Sutherland (Stoney Creek, Ont.) posted a .271 batting average and a .396 slugging percentage. He also tallied 26 hits, 20 RBIs and three home runs in 28 games.

He currently attends the University of Waterloo and studies Recreation and Sports Business.

Last season, Sutherland slashed .375/.448/.708 for the Waterloo Warriors and was named Athlete of the Week in October.

A Sports Management graduate of Humber College, Sutherland owned a .389/.477/.502 slash line in his four seasons with the Humber Hawks, helping them to win two OCAA Championships.

The Brantford Red Sox were founded in 1911 and have won 15 Intercounty Baseball League titles.
