BRANTFORD, ON - The Brantford Red Sox have signed former big league right-hander Gonzalez Germen for the 2022 season.

Germen, 34, is from the Dominican Republic and played parts of four major league seasons with the New York Mets, Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies from 2013 to 2016.

He made his MLB debut with the Mets on July 12, 2013 and recorded his first big league save on August 16 that same year. Germen finished his rookie campaign with a 3.93 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched.

Over four MLB seasons, Germen posted a 4.63 ERA and fanned 129 batters in 144 innings. In recent years, he has pitched in Japan and Mexico.

The Brantford Red Sox were founded in 1911 and have won 15 Intercounty Baseball League titles.
