IBL's Guelph Royals sign Takamatsu

In 2024, Garrett Takamatsu will be switching from the Toronto Maple Leafs' blue jersey to don the blue of the Guelph Royals.

During his five-season tenure at Christie Pits with the Maple Leafs, Takamatsu (Burlington, Ont.) participated in 110 games, securing 146 hits and maintaining a .340 batting average.

Throughout his IBL career, he has knocked in 93 runs and hit 22 home runs. The 2021 season saw Takamatsu register a .419 batting average with 12 home runs and 38 RBIs, earning him the League MVP title. In 2022, he made history by becoming the youngest manager ever for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Prior to his IBL career, Takamatsu attended Central Alabama CC, Indian Hills CC, and the University of Central Oklahoma. He also played professionally for the Quebec Capitales in the Frontier League.
