Official Hamilton Cardinals News Release

Hamilton, Ont. – The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the signing of infielder Kaiden Cardoso.

Cardoso is originally from Abbotsford, British Columbia and at 24 years old, he brings an impressive track record from his collegiate and summer league play.

During his 2023 season at Antelope Valley, he achieved career-highs with a staggering .450 batting average, .517 on-base percentage, and an outstanding .870 slugging percentage. His ability to drive in runs and deliver under pressure was evident with 16 home runs and 52 RBIs.

“Kaiden is an XL quality person and a born hitter,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals general manager. “He’s mature with a methodical hitting approach, so I’m interested to see if that bleeds through the clubhouse and resonates with our younger bats.”

Before being teammates with fellow Cardinal Colby Ring at Antelope Valley, Cardoso played two seasons with Minot State. He posted a career average of .325 with 12 home runs and 76 RBIs in 88 games.

Cardoso will add another reliable left-handed bat to the lineup and be able to slot into various infield positions.

The Cardinals first home game is on Friday May 17 at 7:30 p.m. against the Guelph Royals.
