Official Hamilton Cardinals News Release

HAMILTON, Ont. - The Hamilton Cardinals have signed outfielder Clayton Keyes for the upcoming 2023 season.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound, Calgary native joins the Cardinals after winning the 2022 NAIA Baseball Championship with the Southeastern Fire.

Keyes is an exceptional athlete who is known for his power and tools. Keyes was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2016 and by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2017 – both while in high school. He was also a member of Canada’s Junior. National Team in 2017 where he was teammates with fellow Hamilton Cardinal Tyler Duncan.

“At his best, Keyes has a chance to be a premier hitter in the IBL," said Cardinals general manager George Halim. “He’s tooled out, fun to watch, and has collected more high-pressure ABs and life experience than the average 23-year-old.”
