HAMILTON, Ont. - The Hamilton Cardinals have signed right-handed pitcher Will Sierra.

Sierra, who is from Montreal, Que., brings an outstanding pedigree to the Cardinals. In 2016, he was drafted by the New York Mets in the 28th round of the MLB draft. He has represented the Canadian Junior National team on several occasions and appeared for Team Canada in the 2017 World Championships.

Sierra has spent the past two seasons at Washington State University, appearing in a combined 27 games (including two as a starter), putting up an impressive 44 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings.

The 6-foot-1 righty is joining the club with a wealth of high-level experience and is poised to be a major contributor to the Cardinals in 2023.
