Official Kitchener Panthers News Release
KITCHENER - The Kitchener Panthers have re-signed catcher/outfielder Ryley Davenport.
In 2019, Davenport went 19-for-87 (.218 batting average) with five home runs and 11 RBIs in 29 games for the Panthers.
Davenport also enjoyed a successful tenure at Wilfred Laurier University when he was part of their 2018 and 2019 OUA championship-winning squads.
In 2015, he was named OUA Men's Baseball Rookie of the Year and a Second Team All-Star. Two years later, he was the OUA Men's Baseball Hitter of the Year.
He was also named an OUA Men's Baseball First Team All-Star in 2017 and 2018.
“We are very happy that Ryley Davenport has decided to return to the Panthers,” said Panthers GM Mike Boehmer. “Ryley is a good catcher as well as an outfielder, and will give us versatility in the upcoming season.”
The Kitchener Panthers are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 102-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
