Official Kitchener Panthers News Release

The Kitchener Panthers have re-signed Blake Jacklin (St. Jacobs, Ont.).

Building off a successful rookie season in 2021, in which he batted .372 and was selected a Second Team IBL All-Star, Jacklin enjoyed an outstanding sophomore campaign that saw him finish fourth in the league in batting average (.371) and record four home runs, 30 RBIs, 36 runs and compile a .930 OPS. For his efforts, the 21-year-old outfielder was chosen as an IBL Broadcasters Second Team All-Star.

The Waterloo Minor Baseball and Great Lake Canadians product spent time at NCAA D2 powerhouse Davenport University but has made the decision to transfer to Yavapai College in Prescott, Ariz. for the 2023 spring season.

With his athleticism, positive attitude and competitive mindset, Jacklin has plenty of potential for growth in his game and projects to be a core piece of the Panthers for years to come.

“We are very pleased to have Blake Jacklin back with us in 2023,” said Panthers GM Mike Boehmer. “Blake has had an outstanding first two years with us, hitting for a high average, and using his speed on the bases and in the outfield. He is part of what we feel is the best young outfield in the IBL.”
