KITCHENER, Ont. - Another key bat and outfielder is staying in Kitchener for another season.
Jett Jarvis (Wyoming, Ont.) is coming off a career-high .314 batting average in his third season with the Panthers and was largely utilized in the nine hole.
The Great Lakes Canadians alum had 37 hits for the Panthers last season, knocked in a dozen runs, walked 23 times and struck out 26 times.
Jarvis, 21, is going into his fourth year, and has played in 97 career IBL games, all in Kitchener. He has 107 hits, 65 walks, 86 runs and 44 RBIs.
Collegiately, Jarvis posted a .321 average with McGill University in Quebec last fall. This included 25 hits, two home runs and 16 runs driven in.
He was the team MVP in 2022. General manager Mike Boehmer said he is happy to have Jarvis back, bringing along with him “speed, excellent outfield defence and a strong arm.”
The Panthers begin its 105th IBL season at home against the Hamilton Cardinals on Thursday, May 16.
