Official Kitchener Panthers News Release

KITCHENER, ONT. - The Kitchener Panthers have signed infielder Liam Wilson.

Wilson (Ayr, Ont.) has been one of the best IBL players in recent years. During the 2019 campaign, including playoffs, he went 47-for-118, good for a .400 batting average. Among his hits were 11 doubles and one home run.

Wilson is a graduate of Canisius College, where he enjoyed an outstanding NCAA career, which included First Team All MAAC selections in 2017 and 2018 and a 3rd Team All America All Star selection in 2018.

“We are very pleased to have Liam Wilson back with the Panthers after returning from New Zealand,” said Panthers GM Mike Boehmer. “Liam is one of top players in the IBL, as well as being a team leader”.

The Kitchener Panthers are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 102-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
