KITCHENER, ONT. - The Intercounty Baseball League’s Kitchener Panthers have signed infielders Evyn Sherman and Drey Sloat.
Sherman attended Macomb Community College (NJCAA Division 2) and transferred to Wilfred Laurier University and completed a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science. He played shortstop for the OUA Champion Golden Hawks in 2019.
Sloat is in his fourth year at Wilfred Laurier University pursuing both a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Geography with a minor in Criminology. He was also a member of the Golden Hawks’ OUA Championship team in 2019. That year, he won the Silver Slugger Award with a .454 BA, .589 OBP and 26 RBIs.
The Kitchener Panthers are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 102-year-old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
