Official London Majors News Release

The London Majors have re-signed Owen Boon, one of their ace pitchers from the 2021 season.

The 2022 campaign will be Boon’s seventh with the Intercounty Baseball League club.

The IBL’s 2021 leader in strikeouts and wins, Boon also recorded career-bests in wins (8), starts (9), innings pitched (58) and strikeouts (66), while also posting his second-best ERA at 2.33, just behind teammate and recently resigned Pedro De Los Santos.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to play for the Majors again this upcoming season,” said Boon. “Last season was last season. Our focus is on the task at hand, and that is winning another championship. I am excited to be rejoining the core group of guys that established themselves as the best batch of local players in the league. Roop [Chanderdat] has been working hard all offseason to recruit the best talent available as always. To the fans, we appreciate all the support you showed us last year and we hope that it continues throughout the upcoming season as we look to defend the championship that brought so much joy and excitement to the city."

Chanderdat, the Majors co-owner, general manager and field boss, is excited to have Boon back.

“Owen Boon is not only one of the best pitchers in the league but he is a tremendous person off the field,” said Chanderdat. “He is one of our core group of players that I turn to for leadership. The success that has come his way is a testament to his work ethic. I am looking forward to having Booner back this season”.

In 2021, the Majors won the IBL’s Jack & Lynn Dominico Trophy.
