Official London Majors News Release
The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of right-handed pitcher Braeden Ferrington for his ninth season dawning the pinstripes.
In 2021, Ferrington (London, Ont.) set a career-best with an ERA of 0.86 over 31 1/3 innings before coming into the 2022 season where he would continue his clutch performance especially late in games for the Majors as he logged 24 1/3 innings in 15 games in the regular season before tacking on another eight scoreless innings in the playoffs. Last season with both Ferrington and Fernando Fernandez out of the bullpen at the end of the game, the Majors captured their second straight championship.
A fan favourite, he was asked about what keeps the drive going and how he continues to be dominant over the last two years.
“Being from the city of London, it’s a privilege to wear the pinstripe jersey in front of people just like myself,” said Ferrington. “Personally, what motivates me every season is to be a good role model for the kids. Baseball is a kids' game and the more they enjoy watching us play, maybe one makes a name for themself in the future. Over the past two seasons, the fan base has really supported the guys in the room, on and off the field. We as players notice it and genuinely appreciate it because it shows that people see us as humans and not a three-hour distraction from their work week.
“It’s great to have Ferzy back to help anchor the back end of the bullpen,” said Majors field manager and co-owner Roop Chanderdat. “He is one of my core guys and has grown into a leadership role on our team.”
