Official London Majors News Release

The London Majors have re-signed infielder Keith Kandel.

In 2022, the Fresno, Calif., native belted four home runs and recorded 11 stolen bases and 21 RBIs. Not known for his power, Kandel homered in two of the biggest parks in the league in Barrie and Hamilton. He also clubbed two at home at Labatt Park. For his efforts, Kandel was named one of the IBL Broadcasters' Second Team all-stars (one of six Majors).

This past winter, Kandel was announced as an inductee into the Edison High School Athletics Hall of Fame.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to play this game for a very long time and go from mentee to mentor,” said Kandel. “I’ve gotten to learn from MLB Hall of Famers and ex-teammates who’ve played at the highest level. Those people were gracious enough to pass their knowledge on to me, to help me improve, it’s only right that I pass that same knowledge on to the next generation of players. Helping that next hard-working kid who comes along achieve his dream of playing in college or professionally is always rewarding.”

Manager Roop Chanderdat praised Kandel’s work ethic and leadership.

“Keith has been with me for a while now and knows our culture and is a leader in our clubhouse,” said Chanderdat. “He comes to the park ready to put in the work and do things the right way to help lead our team.”
