Official London Majors News Release

The Intercounty Baseball League’s London Majors have re-signed outfielder Byron Reichstein.

After joining the Majors on Canada Day last season, the St. Thomas, Ont., native batted .299 and had 12 RBIs in 19 games. During the playoffs, Reichstein belted four home runs and matched his regular season RBI total in seven fewer games (12 in 19).

Reichstein was also a standout defensively in 2022. He had a fielding percentage of .983 (top three on the Majors) while recording 58 putouts over the three positions he played.

“The mindset of winning never stops,” Reichstein said of his decision to re-sign with the Majors. “This year we are going to keep pushing to do our best and defend the title again for a second year in a row. I am looking to help the team win and be a leader on the field as much as possible.”

London Majors field manager and co-owner Roop Chanderdat is excited to have Reichstein back.

“Byron is another one of our core guys and it's good to see him back for another season with the Majors,” said Chanderdat. “Byron is a game changer and we have seen this both at the plate and in the field over the years. One of the all time great players in Majors history and I have been fortunate to coach him his entire IBL career.”
