Official London Majors News Release

LONDON - The London Majors are happy to announce the signing of left-handed pitcher and outfield Robert Doyle.

Doyle has had a productive three years in a Majors uniform, posting a .250 batting average, while also registering 25 strikeouts in 37 2/3 innings as a pitcher.

"Playing for {Majors manager] Roop [Chanderdat] is something you love as a player because he knows how to win and what it takes to be successful,” said Doyle. “I’m excited to be back for my fourth full season with the Majors and to play at the beautiful Labatt Park with the best crowd in the IBL."

Co-Owner, manager and general manager Roop Chanderdat speaks highly of Doyle, who is a former Fanshawe Falcons pitcher.

“Bobby is one of the good guys in this league,” said Chanderdat. “He does whatever is asked of him and gives it 100%. His versatility is important for our team – he can pitch, play all outfield spots at a high level defensively, pinch-run and pinch-hit.”

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
