Official London Majors News Release

The London Majors have signed former big league left-hander Cesar Cabral.

Cabral, 33, split parts of three major league seasons between the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles, striking out nine batters in 5 2/3 innings in 14 appearances from 2013 to 2015. The Sabana Grande de Palenque, Dominican Republic native made his MLB debut with the Yankees on September 2, 2013, striking out two Chicago White Sox batters in a scoreless inning.

The hard-throwing left-handed pitcher played for the Licey in the Dominican Winter League this off-season. He has spent time pitching internationally, where he toed the rubber in Japan with the Tokushima Indigo Socks. He has also had two stints in the Atlantic League with the Sugar Land Skeeters and York Revolution in 2018 and 2019.

Prior to that, he pitched 10 seasons in the affiliated minor league ranks, where he registered a 4.15 ERA in 474 2/3 innings.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound hurler is known for being deceptive, as he throws the ball at three different arm angles while featuring a mid-90s fastball, sinker and several breaking balls.

“We are excited to add a player like Cesar Cabral to our team,” said Majors GM and field boss, Roop Chanderdat. “He has MLB experience and will be someone I lean on to help us win games. I always like to have solid pitching and defence and Cabral will be another top arm that I can hand to ball to whether it be to start games or out of the bullpen.”
