Official London Majors News Release

The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of catcher Hayden Jaco.

The former Cameron University student finished his collegiate career during the 2019 season, batting .314 which was second on his team to go along with 36 RBIs in 50 games.

Jaco not only gives the Majors a great option behind the plate, but he also pitched in seven games in 2019, starting five of them and leading his team in ERA. The London resident is a former Cameron University teammate of Majors speedster and centre fielder Myles Miller.

Co-owner, manager and general manager Roop Chanderdat is excited about adding a standout local player to his roster.

"I am looking forward to having Hayden Jaco join the London Majors team. He is a very versatile player that can play numerous positions on the diamond.,” said Chanderdat. "Hayden is coming to the Majors after a successful senior season at Cameron University in 2019. We will be leaning on Hayden to help the London Majors win games this year."

The former NCAA backstop is equally enthused about joining his hometown Majors.

“Getting a chance to play for the Majors makes me feel like a kid again,” said Jaco. “I get another chance to play my favourite childhood game that I thought I once had to give up, I am excited about this opportunity and I hope we can get some fans in the stadium this summer.”

The London Majors are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
