Official London Majors News Release
The London Majors have signed outfielder Starling Joseph.
Joseph, 23, spent five seasons in the Texas Rangers’ organization from 2015 to 2020, and belted 22 home runs, 42 doubles, seven triples and stole 34 bases. The San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic native clubbed 11 home runs in 59 games during the 2018 season with Spokane, the Rangers’ Short-Season class-A affiliate.
Following the 2019 campaign with Spokane, the 6-foot-3, 209-pound outfielder was assigned the Frisco RoughRiders (double-A) and later the Down East Wood Ducks (class-A), but did not appear in a game due to the cancelation of the 2020 minor league season due to COVID-19.
“Joseph is a talented young player that will help us both offensively and defensively,” said Roop Chanderdat, London Majors co-owner, GM and field boss. “COVID impacted his career and hopefully he can jumpstart it again with the Majors. He has shown in the minors that he has some pop in his bat and can also steal bases which makes him a good fit for our ball club.”
