Official London Majors News Release
The London Majors are pleased to announce the signing of infielder Gibson Krzeminski, who was a member of the 2022 Majors team that won a second straight IBL title over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Krzeminski, who hails from Tecumseh, Ont., served in a super utility role for the team that season, playing multiple positions and contributing offensively when he was in the lineup. In 27 games, he batted .260 with 21 runs scored and 19 RBIs.
He appeared in five of the six games against Toronto in the IBL Finals, including scoring the winning run in the wild Game 6 comeback at Christie Pits that earned London back-to-back league titles.
“Gibson has a good stick, and he’s a guy that can play both the infield and outfield which give me lots of options,” said Roop Chanderdat, the Majors’ GM and field manager. “He’s a young man that has matured over the last few years, and he wants to come back and prove to himself – and to everyone else – that he can be a bigtime player in the IBL.”
Prior to joining the Majors in 2022, Krzeminski, 25, enjoyed a strong collegiate career at Canisius College, a Division I program in Buffalo. His best season came as a senior, when he hit .274 with a .353 on-base percentage, six home runs and 24 RBIs in 40 games.
Upon graduation, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound switch-hitter joined the Majors. With a loaded lineup, he settled into a utility role for the 2022 champs. After taking a year off from the game last year, he missed it. And he’s hungry to get back on the diamond.
“I started working in a baseball facility, and I was swinging really well. I got that feeling back,” said Krzeminski. “I said if I’m ever going to play again, it’ll be in the pinstripes in London. The fans, the park, and the City of London is the best. After seeing the team that Roop and the Majors are putting together for 2024, I wanted to be part of bringing another ring to London.”
