Official London Majors News Release

The London Majors have signed former Philadelphia Phillies pitching prospect Manuel Silva.

Signed as an amateur free agent by the Phillies in 2015, the 24-year-old Sabana Grande de Palenque, Dominican Republic native joins the Majors after pitching the 2022 season for the Cleburne Railroaders of the independent American Association.

During his time in the Phillies organization, the left-hander was ranked as high as No. 39 on the teams' prospects list.

From 2016 to 2021 in the Phillies’ organization, Silva posted a 3.03 ERA in 76 games, while striking out 241 batters in 297 innings.

“Manuel is a young import pitcher that is looking to get back to the next level and we have shown over the years that we have been successful in helping these guys move on to higher leagues,” said Roop Chanderdat, Majors’ field manager and co-owner. “Silva has a live arm with good control and will be leaned on to help us win games.”
