Official London Majors News Release

The London Majors have signed outfielder Evan Symons.

The 21-year-old just wrapped up a four-year USports career with the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees, where he majored in Human Kinetics. This season with the Gee-Gees, the right-handed hitting outfielder batted .340 with a .414 on-base percentage and 14 RBIs in 15 games.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Vancouver native can play both corner positions in the outfield and infield. He played for the Lethbridge Bulls of the Western Canadian Baseball League last summer, batting .281 with a .361 on-base percentage in 19 contests.

"Symons is another player that can play multiple positions and this gives me some flexibility. Evan has had success in both Usports and in the WCBL and has proven he can get on base," said Roop Chanderdat, Majors GM and field manager.
