IBL's Toronto Maple Leafs announce series of resignations

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leaf Baseball Club announces today a series of resignations.
Vice president of baseball operations & general manager Damon Topolie has resigned after spending 28 seasons with the franchise as a player. In 2013, he was hired as the team’s field & general Manager and led them to the IBL Finals three times, first in 2016 and then again in 2021 and 2022.
Field manager Garrett Takamatsu has also resigned to return to the Quebec Capitalies of the Frontier League as a player. In Takamatsu’s one-season stint as manager, the Leafs made it to the IBL Finals.
In further resignations, vice president of business operations Roger Lajoie has resigned after returning to the ball club for the 2022 season, as has Ryan Eakin, the team’s director of communications and Game Day operations.
Lajoie is currently an official scorekeeper for the Toronto Blue Jays, a radio host on Sportsnet 590 The Fan, and a Supervisor at the Pickering Casino.
Eakin is currently in his last year of sports broadcasting college and has looked to pursue new opportunities.
Eakin’s game-day role will be filled by Jeremy Margles, who was an integral part of the team’s game-day operations in 2022.
