TORONTO - The Intercounty Baseball League’s Toronto Maple Leafs have signed first baseman Robin Fox-Pappas.

Fox-Pappas who grew up and still lives in Toronto joins the Leafs after spending the 2022 season playing for the Hamilton Cardinals.

In 2022, Fox-Pappas battled injuries for most of the regular season, before being healthy for a strong playoff run. In the 2022 playoffs, Fox-Pappas hit .318 (7-for-22) with a double and three RBIs. Fox-Pappas played at George Brown College along with playing in Australia and Europe before playing last season in the IBL.

“It’s been a dream to join the boys in blue at Christie Pits since I was a kid,” said Fox-Pappas. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to compete with such a talented team and excited to get to work and hopefully bring a championship home.”

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Jeff Lounsbury is excited to have Fox-Pappas on board.

“Robin is a true team player; he’s hard nosed and competitive. Last year was such a struggle for him after getting hurt so early in the season, but he showed up every day, did his best to be a great teammate, then really stepped up when he got healthy and got the opportunity late in the season,” said Lounsbury. “I am so thrilled to have him here with me in Toronto.”
