Welland, Ont. - The Welland Jackfish have re-signed first baseman Greyson Barrett for the upcoming 2025 season.
Barrett, 24, will return for a second season with the Fish after batting .306 with nine doubles, one triple and five home runs in 33 games in 2024.
Hailing from Bakersfield, Calif., Barrett joined the Fish in 2024 following three seasons in the Western Canadian Baseball League with Edmonton and Moose Jaw.
The Texas Wesleyan University graduate spent three years with the Rams. Over three college seasons at Texas Wesleyan, Barrett, who holds dual US/Canadian citizenship, accumulated impressive stats. In 509 at-bats, he recorded 82 extra-base hits, including 43 home runs, along with 180 RBIs.
He maintained a .356 batting average and an OPS of 1.103. He was named an All-American in 2023, where he achieved a .415 batting average, hit 20 home runs, and notched 88 RBIs. His OPS stood at 1.278. Additionally, his defensive prowess in left field was acknowledged with a conference Gold Glove award.
